Tape Loop

Tape Loop

This project was initiated by our collaborators Ollie Palmer, David Di Duca and Kimberly Walker.

Tape Loop consists of a series of tape recorders mounted on the wall of the lab, each of which were connected to short range FM transmitters. The first tape recorder also had a microphone which recorded the sounds of the room. These sounds were passed along to the next recorders in the loop, some of which transmitted the sounds to radios placed around the lab, while others played them out over loud speakers. As these sounds were played out there were also re-recorded by the microphone attached to first tape machine. These This created a 116 second long audio loop layered with the recorded sounds of our activities within the space.
